Nature again readies to change its shapes and colors…readies for the deep winter’s sleep. You fell away from me in autumn a year ago. I did not see the leaves follow, for my heart laid numb and cold as if already slumbering under the subsequent snow… I climbed slowly out of that cold place as spring began and reached in to thaw me as well…summer bloomed hot, full and rich with warm colors…gardens sang out to me to stop and rest and visit a while.
Old roads beckoned to be re-explored and remembered…then autumn returned, dressing up, showing off…trying to imprint the memory with colorations that might carry one through the colder, paler times ahead… until once again green buds begin to peak out of hiding and bugs once more hum.
All this while I’ve been changing too…and shaping gradually into someone who moves forward with a renewed sense of adventure and love of life…with thoughts of you in my heart…forever kept…forever remembered.
